Read the useless act of Senator Folarin

*Folarin Commissions Another Multimillion Naira ICT Centre, Enrolls 1500 Constituents on NHIS* In his bid to ensure access to quality health care services in Oyo Central Senatorial District, Senator Teslim Folarin has enrolled 1,500 constituents on National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS). The Oyo Central senator made the disclosure during the official commissioning and handover of multimillion naira Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Centre he facilitated to Methodist High School in Oluyole Local Government Area of the district. According to the three-term senator, 1,500 participants of the recently concluded two-week long empowerment trainings have been placed on NHIS. “Over 95% of disease conditions that afflict us are covered by the NHIS. The benefit package offers enrollees both in-patient and outpatient care, which include treatment of common ailments, provision of prescribed essential medicines, immunization, maternity care, normal delivery, health education, short-stay admissions among others” he stated. Folarin stated that all the beneficiaries who had not only filled required forms but also chose NHIS accredited hospitals during the two-week empowerment trainings would be contacted very soon. He assured that other constituents would be subscribed to the health scheme in the nearest future. Speaking with journalists in Ibadan after handing over the ICT Centre to the school management, Folarin stated that his choice of ICT center was deliberate because we live in an ICT world. Other facilities donated include, Micano generator, inverter batteries, printers, and internet subscription for a year among others. The three-term senator maintained that Nigerian government should start focusing on the future of children who are leaders of tomorrow through ICT in line with global practices. "As representative of the people, we have a duty to offer the best for people who elected us, education is what underpin what we are trying to achieve, half of our problem is solved if our children are properly educated." He, however, said that the project was not to compete with the state government, but rather to complement effort of the government towards quality education across the state. He therefore urged the school to maintain the facilities, and look for ways to sustain it. The school Principal, Mrs Sanwo thanked the lawmaker for his gesture, pledging to maximize the center for its purpose. Only a stupid idiot will call this noble act a useless act. i am not one of them
