The palm tree, located in a forest of the town is dated 600 years according to the *Owa* of Ilogbo Ekiti. According to *Chief Esinmo of the Ejemu family of Ilogbo Ekiti, (First Settler family)* the said palm tree, *on Ejemu Farmland,* was there before the town settled at the location. Hon Orisalade* *Adetunji* , said that the palm tree is more than 600 years old going by the fact of the numbers of the custodians and the fact that their progenitors met it there He also revealed that the palm tree has no history of being productive or being fruitful.
